Welcome to bayscapes – digital photography by Andy Mortimer FRSA
bayscapes is a photographic project by Andy Mortimer, FRSA producing stunning limited edition digital prints. The canvas and paper prints are ideal for home or workplace and have been used and commissioned in a variety of settings. See Exhibitions & Commissions.
Through his interest in digital photography, Andy explores colour, shape, texture and tone in the landscape. The images try to capture a broader sense of place, a detail or a moment. They reflect the constant changes of light, of surface and mood that are the essence of an environment.
The photographs can be printed at high quality on canvas or paper and the immediacy and scale of the image are important elements in the finished work. They are available to buy or hire, in selected sizes, framed or unframed. Visit the gallery to see the complete range.
Andy Mortimer lives in Kendal, Cumbria, close to Morecambe Bay and the Lake District.
He trained as a painter and art teacher at Newcastle University and also holds a degree in Art History from the Courtauld Institute in London. He taught art in Cumbria and was involved in the arts and art education nationally and internationally for many years before retiring to concentrate on his own work in 2008.
Andy was nominated a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2012 for his “excellent work in digital print and design”.
Margaret Hodge, former Minister of State for Culture and Tourism.
